Well, we got our 30 seconds or so of fame. This past December Lord Design was picked to decorate a treehouse for The Treehouse Guys on DIY/HGTV. It was the weekend before Christmas, the shortest day of the year and during the “pineapple express” sideways rain. It was, hands down, the most interesting/challenging/aggravating/fun thing we’ve done.

My team, including my husband, Jeff who I could not have done this with out, were amazing!
Not the most beautiful day for a photo shoot! Bill Purcell was sent by 1859 Oregon Magazine to shoot my an outdoor kitchen we did a while back. He does great work, so I’m sure it will look great in the pages of 1859 in July.

It’s a gorgeous day for a photo shoot! Thank you Shannon Quimby and Lincoln Barbour for all of your hard work. We look forward to seeing your work in Better Homes & Garden’s some time next year.
So the Willamette Week wrote a great review on the Remedy Wine Bar that I designed. It really is a great space and the wine and food will bring you back again and again!
So this gorgeous chandelier, which is 8 feet wide and 4 feet tall, was just recently installed in it’s new home. This was not at all easy.
It took Paul Marto and the team he assembled to take this down from the Justin & Burk’s shop (crystal strand by crystal strand), transport it, fashion a new plate to support this monster and then install it…crystal strand by crystal strand. Watch this video to see how awesome these guys are, they make it look easy and I know for a fact, it was not! Here’s the video link: Crystal Chandelier
Whew! It’s up!
Freakin’ cool product alert! I have a pretty boring and very typical metal front door to my studio. I found this Urbio product that is called String Bean. It has very strong magnets on the back and the vessel is made of recylable, light weight polypropylene. I can have flowers ON my door year round. LOVE THIS!!!!
The warm weather today along with seeing the first Daphodils opening up has me thinking about my patio. There is a talented group of designers in Portland at Revolution Designhouse who are responsible for the lounge chair in this picture and many other, locally designed and produced products. They are well made, classicly modern and, well, I must have some! Spring’s on it’s way…YAY!
Christmas decorating 2012 is over for us and we had a blast! Stephanie Stephens a Lord Design design associate works side by side with Arlene Lord to install over 8 thousand square feet of Christmas decor. Check out the article in the West Linn Tidings and Lake Oswego Review to see some after pictures. This year we even did the lighting and decorating of 5 trees! One was 15’ tall! We LOVE decorating and creating magical experiences for all who enter the home. It’s such an honor to have our clients invite us back to be a part of what is now a Christmas tradition for them and their family. thank you Peggy and Gary! We adore you!
These photos were taken by Steve Eltinge of Eltinge Photography. Thanks Steve!
My talented and sweet friend Jim Staicoff has created a really cool, locally made, line of wall papers. An awesome article was written in the Oregonian. You can contact Jim and see the designs by local artists Amy Ruppel, Stephanie Dyer and Dardinelle Troën, on his website:http://paperpaintpress.com/.
So excited to see where this leads for you, Jim! I am also excited for these artists and any future artists who get to be on this journey with Jim. I’m rooting for you all!!!
